Affidavit: Plainview feedlot owner defrauded Iowa company over equipment reimbursement
A Pierce County feedlot operator accused of deceiving an Iowa feed operation out of more than $400,000 was formally charged on Wednesday with felony theft. An arrest affidavit written by a Pierce County sheriff’s deputy stated that Travis Hofmann, 36, whose feedlot is located south of Plainview, had been tasked with feeding around 1,800 head of cattle owned by FredCo Inc. of Holstein, Iowa.

A rural Plainview man is jailed on a theft charge after he allegedly defrauded an Iowa company of over $400,000 worth of feed. Around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office arrested Travis Hofmann, 36, on suspicion of theft by deception, said Pierce County Attorney Ted Lohrberg in a press release.
