SPANAWAY, Wash. — A man driving a stolen car crashed into a vacant home in Spanaway while attempting to escape Pierce County deputies Tuesday afternoon. At 3:55 p.m., deputies said one of their patrol sergeants spotted a stolen vehicle at Military Rd S. and Pacific Ave S. The sergeant then confirmed the car was stolen and waited until a second unit arrived to attempt a vehicle stop, deputies said.
