For 11 years, “Pierz Freedom Fest” hosted by the Pierz Area Commercial Club, has proven to be a summertime favorite. This year, on Saturday, July 20th, the line-up includes Mason Dixon Line, Lauren Watkins, Phil Vassar and headliner Chase Rice.

In addition to fabulous music and great camaraderie, guests can enjoy food and beverages. It will take place at the Genola ball fields, one mile south of Pierz on Highway 25.

Country music star Phil Vassar is excited to get back on the road and perform for fans at the Pierz Freedom Fest on Saturday, July 20. Vassar, who first broke into the country music scene in the 1990s and 2000s, took some time off from touring recently but says he’s now feeling re-energized and ready to entertain crowds once again.

Fans can expect to hear Vassar’s signature upbeat hits, such as “Just Another Day in Paradise” and “American Child,” when he takes the stage at Pierz Freedom Fest. After recharging from touring, the seasoned performer is raring to get in front of crowds once more and help celebrate America with a night of feel-good country music. The festival is sure to be a can’t-miss summer event.

Vassar will perform at the Pierz Freedom Fest Saturday, July 20 at 8 p.m. Preceding his performance will be Mason Dixon Line at 4 p.m. and Lauren Watkins at 6 p.m., with headliner Chase Rice following Vassar at 10 p.m. Gates open at 3 p.m.

The Pierz Freedom Fest will take place at the Genola ball fields, one mile south of Pierz on Highway 25. Tickets can be purchased online at www.pierzfreedomfest.com. General admission tickets will be sold for $75 until the day of the fest or until they sell out. Also available until the day of the fest, VIP tickets will be sold for $175, which includes eight drink chips, one meal ticket, a Freedom Fest mug, access to a private VIP tent with tables and chairs, a private bar and air conditioned bathrooms, as well as front stage viewing of the performances.

With limited parking at the site, event organizers have arranged for shuttle buses to take guests to and from the event starting at 2:30 PM. Locations of shuttle pick-ups are:

Pierz — Bootleggers Bar, Frosty’s Bar, Pierz Campground & the PFF Campground.

Genola — Rudy’s Road House, Beckers Campground & Silver Bullet

    Buckman — Buckman Bank

Little Falls — Johnny C’s Sports Bar

    Royalton — Scotties Log Bar

Due to needing to increase the amount of onsite parking space available at Pierz Freedom Fest, organizers made the decision to move all camping offsite. The new camping location is 14343 Hwy. 25, Pierz. Other camping available includes the Pierz Golf Course and Campground — call (320) 468-2662; the Genola campground 13436 Highway 25, Pierz — call (320) 468-2843. For those who prefer not to camp out, the Hillbilly Haven Motel on Main Street in Pierz may have openings — call (320) 468-2095.

More than a music festival, Pierz Freedom Fest is committed to giving back to the Pierz and the surrounding communities. Proceeds from the event are used to support local groups and organizations, scholarships for seniors at Healy High, funds for Pioneer and Holy Trinity Elementary schools, Pierz area nursing homes and assisted living facilities for resident activities and so much more.
