PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — At least one person was injured as a result of flash flooding at Tennessee’s Dollywood on Sunday, park officials said.
The flooding, caused by storms in the eastern portions of Tennessee, affected several areas of the Pigeon Forge amusement park. Photos from inside Dollywood show flooding throughout walkways and attraction entrances, with parts of the park’s parking lots inundated with water.

“With the assistance of Pigeon Forge Police and Fire Departments, park personnel directed guests to safety during the storm. At this time, one minor injury has been reported,” Dollywood public relations director Wes Ramey said.
Dollywood did not share further details of the injury.
Ramey, on Sunday night, added that cleanup crews had already been deployed to mitigate the damage, and “support” guests whose cars had been affected.
At the time, Ramey said he was unsure whether Dollywood would open as scheduled on Monday. Park officials later confirmed Dollywood would reopen at 12 p.m. on Monday.
“Park officials will continue to assess conditions and updates will be posted to our social media pages as additional information becomes available,” reads a message posted to Dollywood’s X and Instagram pages.
Additional rain is expected this week, NewsNation affiliate WATE reported, with scattered showers on Monday and Tuesday, and heavy rains possible Monday evening through Tuesday morning.
Sunday’s flooding at Dollywood also comes just over a week after Dollywood was forced to close due to a broken water main on July 17. The park opened as scheduled the following day.
