Donald Kyle Deskins, 55, of Kimper, had been accused of killing his wife, Judith, in April 2021, then concealing evidence of the crime. He was indicted last August on single count of murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

Man given 15 years in Pike man's death
A former Pike County man was sentenced to serve a total of 15 years for charges in connection with a 2020 death of a Pike County man in a Floyd County motel. Enos Little, 50, was sentenced to a total of 15 years. He received 10 years for second degree assault and five years for conspiracy to kidnap. Little is also serving five years in an unrelated case in Pike county, which must be completed before he begins serving the Floyd County sentence.

The case against Donald Kyle Deskins, who is accused of murder in connection with the death of his wife Judith Dawn Deskins at their Meathouse Road, Kimper, residence on April 24, 2001, went into its second week as the defense rested July 12. Closing arguments and jury instructions were presented the morning of July 15.
Former assistant county attorney’s murder trial underway
A trial for Donald Kyle Deskins, a former assistant county attorney, who is accused of the violent beating death of his wife, began July 8 in Pike Circuit Court. The investigation into the death of Judith Dawn Deskins began after Kyle Deskins, 49, called Pike County 911 on April 24, 2021, and reported his wife was deceased in their residence at Meathouse Road, Kimper. Two years later, he was indicted on charges of murder — domestic violence (a Class A felony carrying a penalty of 20 to 50 years and/or life in prison) and two counts of tampering with physical evidence (Class D felonies punishable by one to five years in jail each).
