    Arrest made after watercraft collision on Lake White

    The Waverly Fire Department was dispatched to Lake White near Rittenour Road at 9:23 p.m. in reference to boat with a person missing possibly in the water, according to a report from the WFD.

    On arrival, personnel met with law enforcement to gather information. Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Waverly Police Department and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources all responded to the scene. The WFD then launched a rescue boat in the lake. WFD personnel searched the water using sonar and doing a visual search on the surface.

    During the course of investigating, the missing person was found to have made it to land and was inside a residence. WFD cleared and returned ti the station at 11:35 p.m.

    According to a report from ODNR, ODNR officers responded to an incident at Lake White State Park Sunday around 9:30 p.m. which resulted in one person being arrested. An individual on a personal watercraft was on a pontoon boat with acquaintances when an argument started. The individual boarded his personal watercraft and is believed to have purposefully crashed into the pontoon boat. Charges are pending review with the prosecutor’s office.
