    By Waverly Fire Department,

The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s burn ban has been lifted for Pike County today. However, please remember that Ohio’s normal fall burn ban is now in effect for October and November. This prohibits burning between 6 AM and 6 PM.

For safer burning, consider doing so in the evening or at night when winds typically die down, reducing the risk of fires getting out of control and spreading.

Quick Open Burning Tips for Safe Fires:

Always keep a water source, like a hose or bucket, nearby to quickly extinguish flames if needed.Never leave a fire unattended, and ensure it is completely out before leaving the area.
