The last time a Southern Arizona team advanced to the Little League Softball World Series, Sunnyside came home with a championship in 2013. Members of Willcox’s current team were toddlers at the time. They hope to ride the arm of ace Hattie Macumber to bring home another title to this area after capturing the Little League West Regional title on Friday night.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department has garnered a fresh ally in their ongoing war on drugs; a two-year-old German Shepherd named Echo. Thanks to community funds, the department has brought in this narcotics-detection-trained canine. Echo and his handler recently completed an intensive four-week training and are now certified to sniff out several illegal substances, including the potent and dangerous drug Fentanyl.

Boss stabbed by employee in Glendale, police say
GLENDALE, Ariz. — A man was stabbed on Saturday evening in Glendale and told police the person who stabbed him was an employee, the city's police department said. Glendale police responded to the area of Glendale and 67th avenues around 10 p.m. on Saturday evening for a stabbing call. When officers got to the scene, they found a man with non-life-threatening injuries.
