The Ghost Fire in Pinal County has been 100% contained after fire crews spent two days fighting the blaze.

The brush started Friday, June 21 along State Route 88, northeast of Apache Junction between the Goldfield Ghost Town and Lost Dutchman State Park, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management reported.

On Saturday, June 22, one state hand crew and an engine remained assigned to the Ghost Fire as it reached 65% containment with no new growth. There was still some heat remaining, primarily among downed trees along both sides of SR 88, the department reported.

By Sunday, the fire was fully contained at 88 acres.

The fire caused no road closures but drivers in the area were told to use caution as crews continued working off SR 88.
