PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Over the weekend, the lives of a family in Pine Bluff were forever changed after police said a 28-year-old man was found shot and killed inside an apartment.

Officials with the Pine Bluff Police Department said there has been no arrest made in the case. However, the family of 28-year-old Tamar’k Jack said they’re confident the case will not go cold.

“I’m pleased thus far with the work the detectives have been doing,” Jack’s mother Janelle Matthews said.

Police said Jack was found shot and killed inside an apartment on June 29 before 10pm at 4321 S. Olive, the Village Green Apartments. Jack’s family said the apartment wasn’t his and they believe someone planned his death.

“We do believe that this was not a random act this was not done by a single person,” his brother Tamaras Jack said.

While Jack’s other brother Marcus adds, “For that level of anger to my brother that has to be some type of envy.”

Matthews said she hopes they get justice soon.

“Whoever pulled the trigger, whoever called my son over there to be shot, I hope their family never has to feel this,” Matthews said.

Jack’s siblings say he was never involved with any type of violence.

“We stick to ourselves; we are not out and about in the streets. So, for something like this to happen this was something that was brought to him not that he brought onto himself,” Jack said.

Jack’s sisters, Tamyija and Tamyiya say they will deeply miss their brother.

“What my brother has taught me no matter what we go through he was always good at telling us he loved us,” Jack stated.

Matthews says she always kept her children away from guns which is another level of pain that her son’s life was taken by someone with a gun.
