NEW YORK (Reuters) - A storm powerful enough to knock a B-52 bomber off a platform and tear the roof off a 19th century church ripped through central New York state, killing a man who went outside to check on his antique car.

Bradford County under a flash flood warning Wednesday evening
On Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. a flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 7:15 p.m. for Bradford County. "At 4:15 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," explains the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
