Pine Valley, Descanso and Julian can expect hail Tuesday during severe weather: NWS

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for parts of San Diego County Tuesday afternoon, while much of the county remains under a heat advisory.
Those in the impacted area can expect heavy rain and possible flash flooding and winds up to 60 mph, while quarter-sized hail is possible, according to NWS.
Locations that are in the impacted area Tuesday afternoon include Alpine, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, southern Mount Laguna, I-8 between Pine Valley and Boulevard, Pine Valley, Descanso, Hwy S1 between Lake Cuyamaca And Mount Laguna, Viejas Indian Reservation, Guatay, Japatul Valley, and Captain Grande Indian Reservation, according to NWS.
NWS reports the thunderstorm was located over Pine Valley, near I-8, at 2:46 p.m. moving northwest at 10 mph.
Torrential rainfall, high winds and hail can cause damage to vehicles and homes. Those in the impacted areas should take cover in a room away from windows or on the lowest floor of a building, NWS advises. Also, do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Meanwhile, a majority of San Diego County’s inland areas are under a heat advisory through Thursday night.
The National Weather Service has a heat advisory in place for parts of San Diego County through 10 p.m. Thursday.
Cities of El Cajon, San Marcos, Poway, Escondido, Santee and La Mesa can expect high temperatures in the 80s to 90s, while Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week with temperatures around 100 degrees for far inland valleys, NWS reports.
NWS says Pine Valley and Julian can expect high temperatures in the 90s, with the warmest day this week being Thursday.
