Big-rig brakes catch on fire after driver forgot to release them
Jasper firefighters responded to Highway 96 near Hollis Tire late Wednesday morning when it was reported that an 18-wheeler was on fire. Jasper Police arrived first and reported that it was actually the truck’s brakes that were burning. Police said that the driver had just left the Highway 190 Fuel Stop and forgot to release his brakes.
