Owner speaks out after Greenville body shop ravaged by suspected arson
GREENVILLE, Pitt County — A Greenville body shop sustained major damage in a fire on Wednesday, July 24 that investigators believe was intentionally set. Investigators with Greenville Police say the fire at Komplete Auto Repair & Bodyshop started in the office and was ruled intentional. Police say they have a person of interest in the case but would not elaborate further. Now, the owners are here to salvage whatever is left.
Suicide prevention bear unveiled at Country Biscuit
A new bear was revealed Thursday outside the Country Biscuit on Broad Street in New Bern. This new bear is to help bring awareness to suicide prevention. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States. Two women in New Bern are coming together to save lives.
Woman gets several years in prison for drug related death of Carteret County man
CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A woman will spend at least the next five years behind bars after pleading guilty to providing drugs to a man who died from them. Carteret County District Attorney Scott Thomas says that Melissa Mastropierro, 42, of Atlantic pled guilty to death by distribution of controlled substances in the death of Pawnee Schmitz, 30, of Davis.

2nd arrest after Fayetteville police involved in 3 drug raids in one day
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Fayetteville Friday announced an arrest in the third drug raid that officers conducted in one day last week. On Thursday, officers revealed a man was arrested after two search warrants at two homes on July 18 led to the discovery of 815 grams of fentanyl, along with cocaine, and two guns, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Drowning at Emerald Isle claims life of 29-year-old woman
Emerald Isle, NC — A 29-year-old woman passed away from a drowning incident at Emerald Isle on Thursday, July 25, according to the town officials. Emergency services responded to a water rescue incident in the area of 1500 Ocean Drive around 4:15pm. Due to multiple ongoing incidents Indian Beach crews also responded. Officials say crews located two victims and a bystander around 50 to 60 feet in the water from the shore. Emergency personnel brought both victims and the bystander back to land.
