Officers say the victim was able to kick the suspect off of her then ran towards bicyclists to call for help.

When Pineville officers arrived on scene, they arrested 28-year-old Tyrone Lyndin Duncan. He was charged with assault on a female and possession of methamphetamine.

There have been several security measures implemented in the last year for greenways in Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.
