PIQUA, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Police arrested two suspects after a teen was shot just after midnight.

Piqua police and medics responded to a reported shooting in the 800 block of Fisk Street at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old with a minor gunshot wound.

Deputy Chief Marty Grove of the Piqua Police Department told our partners at Miami Valley Today that the injury was minimal and that the victim refused medical treatment at the scene.

The victim and the suspect, a 16-year-old, are said to have known each other prior to the shooting. Police say the suspect fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the scene with another 18-year-old.

After failing to track down the suspects, law enforcement received a tip that the two suspects were at a gas station on South Street. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The 16-year-old was transported to a juvenile detention center where he is facing three counts of felonious assault. The 18-year-old has not been charged.

Investigation is ongoing by Piqua police, who say additional charges may be filed.
