Intense mansion in California has been the star of many TV shows — now it’s for sale

A historic mansion with a claim to fame has landed on the real estate market in beautiful Piru, California, for $7.5 million — and it comes with some interior surprises.

It’s called The Newhall Mansion, and the 10-bedroom, 12-bathroom home has been featured in many popular shows, including “The X-Files” and “Murder, She Wrote,” thanks to its statuesque beauty and striking views.

“Nestled at the base of idyllic Lake Piru, an hour or less from Los Angeles, the property (originally known as the Cook Mansion) is a blend of Western California heritage and Victorian luxury dating back to the citrus empires that ruled the land at the beginning of the 20th century,” the listing on Sotheby’s International Realty says.

Built in 1984, the 11,500-square-foot property has an old-world sort of feel, both on the inside and out, with an almost vintage, Victorian build, which makes it the picture perfect venue for just about any event.

Combing through the photos, a few different things stand out, including what looks like a studio apartment with stone walls, giving it an almost dungeon vibe that blends in perfectly with the rest of the mansion’s lavish decor.

The residence’s fame doesn’t stop at television shows, either.

“As a meticulously maintained Ventura County historical landmark, the Newhall Mansion has long been a coveted location for film & TV, including The X-Files, Charlie’s Angels, Melrose Place, Murder, She Wrote, Hart to Hart, and recently more contemporary work by stars such as Nikki Minaj,” the listing notes.

The mansion is close to everything, including hiking trails and Magic Mountain.

The listing is held by Eric Lavey of Sotheby’s International Realty — Beverly Hills Brokerage.

Piru is about a 50-mile northwest drive from Los Angeles.
