    Big Wins for Piscataway Boys Basketball at Summer Tournaments

    PISCATAWAY, NJ – Although the school year and high school sports seasons have ended for 2023-2024, Piscataway’s boys basketball continues to compete, even during the summer.

    The Chiefs traveled to Essex County on Saturday where they beat Orange, 55-36 in the East Orange Summer League championship.

    Donald Nwaigwe, a rising junior at PHS, was named the finals MVP.

    The win comes off a tough 44-41 loss to Hunterdon Central in their first game of the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Association’s (NJBCA) Boys Jersey Live 2024 tournament at Montgomery High School in Skillman on June 22.

    Vaughn Turner, a rising senior, led Piscataway in scoring with 13 points.

    The Chiefs went on to defeat Trenton Central High School, 76-43 in their second game of the morning. Turner took home top-performer honors again, this time with 25 points.

    The annual NJBCA tournament is an invitation-only high school basketball showcase featuring the premiere teams and players in the state.
