Two Alabama high school baseball players to play in MLB-hosted showcase game
Two high school baseball players from the state of Alabama have been selected for a national showcase game hosted by Major League Baseball. Bob Jones senior Myles Hammond and Hoover junior Will Adams were both among the 44 athletes selected to play in the 44 Hank Aaron Invitational Showcase Game on Saturday at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.
Seeing hazy skies? It’s dust from the Sahara Desert
Hazy skies spied across parts of Alabama on Thursday afternoon aren’t the usual summertime ozone pollution. It’s actually dust — from Africa’s Sahara Desert. A cloud of dust could be seen on NOAA satellites moving across parts of north and central Alabama on Thursday afternoon (shown above).
