Killer Mike Will Not Face Criminal Charges Over 2024 Grammys Arrest
In February, after winning three trophies at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Killer Mike was arrested at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena and booked for misdemeanor battery following an incident with a security guard. The Los Angeles city attorney’s office has now declined to file and pursue formal criminal charges against the Run the Jewels artist, TMZ reports.
Wilco Selling Vintage Guitars, Soviet-Built Oddities, and Mystery Pedals on Reverb
Wilco are listing over a dozen new items on their Reverb shop, which they launched last year. Among the offerings from the Loft—their famous Chicago studio—are vintage guitars, Soviet-built oddities, signed posters, and mystery boxes of effects pedals. One of those rarities is a 1962 Martin F-55 from Jeff Tweedy’s personal collection. “It’s a rare bird. You don’t see these in the wild too often,” said Loft studio manager Mark Greenberg. “I’ll be honest, I’m surprised Jeff is selling this one.”

SXSW Cuts Ties With U.S. Army and Weapons Makers
SXSW says it will no longer receive sponsorship from the U.S. army and weapons makers after a boycott gained steam at this year’s festival. SXSW wrote on its website, “After careful consideration, we are revising our sponsorship model. As a result, the US Army, and companies who engage in weapons manufacturing, will not be sponsors of SXSW 2025.”

Heems has announced his second new album of the year. Veena LP, the follow-up to February’s Lafandar, is out August 23 via Veena Sounds. The lead single, “Manto,” is a collaboration with Vijay Iyer about the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan. Blood Incantation Announce New Album Absolute Elsewhere
Denver death metal group Blood Incantation have announced a new album. Absolute Elsewhere, the longest full-length LP of their career, comes out October 4 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2019’s album Hidden History of the Human Race is composed of two sprawling songs, “The Stargate” and “The Message,” that total 45 minutes. Arthur Rizk produced the album at Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin, Germany, and joining Blood Incantation on select tracks are Tangerine Dream’s Thorsten Quaeschning, Necros Christos’ Malte Gericke, and Hällas’ Nicklas Malmqvist.
Cloud Nothings Announce Here and Nowhere Else Anniversary Tour
Cloud Nothings will head out on a 10th anniversary tour of Here and Nowhere Else this October. Music Industry Groups Sue AI Companies for Stealing Artists’ Work to Generate Music
A music industry body has sued two leading artificial intelligence developers, accusing them of stealing artists’ work to train AI to generate music. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) filed copyright infringement cases against the developers of Suno and Udio, alongside fellow plaintiffs Sony Music Entertainment, UMG Recordings, Inc., and Warner Records, Inc.—record labels that hold the rights to sound recordings they claim Suno and Udio infringed.
