Tonight is Game 7 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, with the Edmonton Oilers facing off against the Florida Panthers. Before the two NHL teams cut up the ice, Alanis Morissette sang Canada and the United States’ national anthems—“O Canada” and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” respectively—while fans loudly sang along. (The Canadian singer opted not to sport an NHL jersey for either team, as she’s long rooted for her hometown heroes, the Ottawa Senators.) Modern Baseball Announce 10th Anniversary Reissue of You’re Gonna Miss It All
Modern Baseball went on an indefinite hiatus in 2017, but, today, they’re announcing a special reissue of their breakout album, You’re Gonna Miss It All, to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The new edition is out September 27, via Run for Cover, and it includes a 96-page hardcover photo book shot by Jess Flynn, complete with annotations by the band for each photo, and a 7" with unreleased demos by the Philadelphia emo band. NewJeans have enlisted Pharrell Williams for a new song, “Supernatural.” Drawing from Williams’ production on Manami’s 2009 song “Back of My Mind,” the song includes original composition and lyrics from the Neptunes man. Bill Callahan has announced a new live album that he recorded while touring in support of YTILAER. The new album, Resuscitate!, captures a show at Chicago’s Thalia Hall from Monday, March 6, 2023. Callahan played the concert with guitarist Matt Kinsey, alto saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and drummer Jim White. In addition, there were guest appearances from pianist Nathaniel Ballinger, vocalist Pascal Kerong’A, alto saxophonist Nick Mazzarella, guembri player Joshua Abrams, and harmonium player Lisa Alvarado.
