Four arrested in connection to stolen vehicle, illegal paraphernalia

PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) - Today, Pittsburg police department arrest four individuals connected to vehicle theft and known arrest warrants.

At around 6:41 am this morning, an officer observed a vehicle without a license plate turn onto Amber drive. The driver pulled into the driveway of 1011 Amber Drive, exited the vehicle and shut the door behind him.

Authorities learned the vehicle was reported stolen out of Joplin, Mo.

A search warrant was executed on the premises.

The driver was identified as Alexander Joseph Jeffries, 37, of Carl Junction, Mo. Jeffries was arrested for felony possession of stolen property.

The following individuals were located on property and taken into custody:

• Elizabeth Winters , age 61 - failure to appear warrant for previous possession of methamphetamine
• Michelle Johnson, age 36 - misdemeanor warrant
• Brandy Mellon, age 45 - misdemeanor warrant

During execution of the search warrant, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view. An additional search warrant was obtained for illegal narcotics was conducted into the residence, items believed to be illegal controlled substances and additional drug paraphernalia were located.

According to authorities, the investigation into the illegal drugs in ongoing.
