PITTSBURG, KS — Pittsburg’s Alyssa Hotze announced her commitment to Pitt State University to join their women’s soccer program.

Hotze has worked her way to becoming not only one of the best soccer players in Southeast Kansas, but also in the state.

Hotze had a big junior year for the Lady Purple Dragons. She had 17 goals and 10 assists on the season. She helped account for 44 points.

She also competes highly on the club level for soccer with the Girls Academy League where she was the leading scorer for her team with 6 goals and one assist.

We caught up with Hotze to talk about her commitment and why she decided to stay close to home.

Pittsburg Senior Alyssa Hotze said, “I just think it’d be exciting to be like the first hometown girl to be on the team and get an offer from the team. And I’m just excited to get to know the team and hopefully help them become a powerhouse. I know Pitt State has really good athletics and they are very competitive as a school altogether and that’s kind of what I look for in teams that I’m on, like a team that wants to win, a team that wants to compete. So I think Pitt State is going to be a good team that can compete and get far in our conference”.
