    Pittsburg State offers free audit for associate degree seekers

    PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) -- Pittsburg State University is encouraging former students that paused their education to request free audit for possible associate degree.

    According to the university, students who have previously paused their education may have earned an Associate of Arts.

    Requirements

    • Seeking their first Bachelor's degree without an existing Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.
    • Have at least 60 credit hours completed (developmental credit hours are not included).
    • Have at least 15 credit hours completed in residences (courses taken from PSU).
    • Have completed the General Education program applicable to their University Catalog.
    • Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

    "If something caused you to put your college education on pause before the finish line, having an associate degree will ensure you receive credit for your investment of time and treasure," said President Dan Shipp.

    According to PSU , Kansas is projected to add 54,000 new jobs requiring a college degree. It's also projected that there will be three times more jobs for those with an associate degree than those without.
