Bid on a rare Joe Namath jersey, benefits Larry Bruno Foundation

A rare piece of Pittsburgh-area sports history is up for auction.

The Larry Bruno Foundation has announced that they are auctioning off several Joe Namath jerseys at their annual banquet on July 27 at Seven Oaks.

One of those jerseys is a rare, white, number 12, University of Alabama football uniform, signed “Joe Willie Namath”.

Bruno is the legendary Beaver Falls football coach that Namath played for, leading the Tigers to a 10-0 season and WPIAL Championship in 1960.

Namath has praised Bruno for helping him become the Super Bowl-winning quarterback he became in the NFL.

The Larry Bruno Foundation is dedicated to making the Beaver Falls and surrounding area a better place to live. They honor athletes and other who work to make the community better.

The foundation also celebrates the rich history of the area.
