Pittsburgh Public Safety says its Fireworks Task force responded to 89 calls on the 4th of July holiday.

62 warning were issued as a result of those calls.

Since June 30, 124 calls have been made to the task force, responding to fireworks-related issues.

The task force will be in effect through Friday evening.

It’s made up of members of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Fire, and the task force will respond to fireworks related calls and complaints throughout the city.

The city reminds residents that fireworks cannot be ignited or discharged on public or private property without the expressed permission of the property owner.

Fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet of a building or vehicle, regardless of whether the building or vehicle is owned by the user.

Fireworks are prohibited in all city parks and playing fields, and fireworks cannot be discharged in the direction of another person or used under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
