Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes continues to be must-see on the mound this season.

On Friday against the New York Mets, Skenes once again wowed.

In the Pirates' 14-2 win at PNC Park, Skenes went seven innings, allowing two earned runs, two hits and two walks while striking out eight in just his 10th major league appearance.

Besides racking up his fifth win of the season, Skenes set a major league record.

With Mets centerfielder Harrison Bader at the plate, Skenes delivered a sweeping 87 mph slider to the right-handed hitter for strike three, giving him his eighth strikeout of the evening. The 22-year-old has now recorded seven-plus strikeouts in nine of his first 10 career outings, a first in MLB history.
