(WTRF) — When it comes to healthcare in the Tri-State area there are multiple hospitals that provide world class care ,and now a few of those are being recognized nationally.
On Tuesday, U.S. News and World Reports released their 2024 to 2025 Best Hospital rankings.
The list highlights 466 of the best regional hospitals ranked in states and major metro areas across the country.
WVU Medicine Hospitals in Morgantown earned the top spot in West Virginia for several different categories of care.
In the Buckeye State Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center earned the number one ranking in the Columbus metropolitan area.
For the Pittsburgh Metro Area UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside took home the number one ranking.
The Chief of Health Analysis at US News and World Reports shares exactly what they look for when ranking the hospitals nationwide.
”We have a trove of data from the from the federal government for every person who’s had a hospital visit paid for by the US taxpayer. And so we examine what condition that person was treated for, what their health condition was. When they arrived at the hospital. Did they have a condition that might complicate their care, like diabetes or kidney failure? And then what were their outcomes?”
