PITTSBURGH (WBOY) — The global technical system outages announced by Microsoft and CrowdStrike Friday morning have hit the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium.

In a post on its official Facebook page , the zoo said that it will be operating on cash only on Friday due to “a global technical system outage.”

The zoo said that guests of all ages will be able to purchase tickets at a flat rate of $20 cash per person, that members will be admitted as normal and that pre-purchased tickets would be honored with no additional adjustments.

The outages have grounded flights , knocked banks and hospital systems offline, media outlets off air and impacted more industries and government organizations Friday. CrowdStrike has said it does not believe a cyberattack was behind the outage, saying the problem occurred when it deployed a faulty update to computers running Microsoft Windows.

The Pittsburgh Zoo encouraged those interested in visiting to check its Facebook page for updates.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
