Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 training camp schedule: Dates, times for practices

We are slowly but surely making our way toward the start of the 2024 NFL season, as the Pittsburgh Steelers will begin training camp this week. We are now just one month and a few weeks away from Week 1.

While most of the rest of the league has seen its players report to training camp by now, the Steelers are not in that group. Instead, the team will see its players report on Wednesday, July 24, with the first practice set for Thursday, July 25.

After wearing only helmets for the first four practices of training camp, Pittsburgh will begin strapping on the pads on Tuesday, July 30. That practice, along with every other one up until Wednesday, Aug. 14, will be open to the public.

The Steelers will hold joint practices with the Buffalo Bills this year ahead of their preseason Week 2 contest, but unfortunately that will not be open to the public, nor will any practice after that. The Steelers will close out their exhibition slate with a road contest against the Detroit Lions.

Once training camp and the preseason are finished, the Steelers will have to cut the roster down from 90 to 53. That will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 4 p.m. ET. Now, a look at the Steelers entire training camp schedule .
