    Report: Pirates ink veteran infielder to minor league deal

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a minor league deal with infielder Jose Rojas.

    According to the report, Rojas will report to Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pirates organization.

    The 31-year old played in 67 games at Triple-A with Scranton/Wilkes Barre in the New York Yankees organization. This season in the minors, he batted .254 with 18 homers and 57 RBI’s.

    He was recently released from his minor league deal.

    Rojas previously appeared in 83 games at the Major League level with the Los Angeles Angels in both 2021 and 2022.

    For his career, Rojas has a career betting average of .188 with 6 home runs and 16 RBI’s.
