It might be the weekend, but there's no rest for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of their 2024 campaign (well, until Monday).

Welcoming hundreds of fans to the first Saturday practice of camp, it was also a day when the Steelers announced their newest Hall of Honor class .

Here is everything to know about day three of 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers training camp.

Russell Wilson Shows Signs of Progress

Before Saturday, Wilson had yet to put on cleats or do any real movement in terms of light jogging, or in this case, shuffling. He would go on to participate in individual drills, throwing to receivers. It's a positive sign regarding his return, something Russell Wilson nor Mike Tomlin is rushing.

Starting guard Isaac Seumalo also missed practice, but it seemed more like a veteran rest day rather than an injury. Pittsburgh did the same thing with Seumalo last year throughout the regular season.

RB-returner Cordarrelle Patterson was spotted doing some light work on a side field with trainers. The former All-Pro was placed on the NFI or Non-Football Injury list after sustaining what was noted as a hamstring injury.

TE Rodney Williams unfortunately had to leave practice early after falling awkwardly on his arm. Trainers were reportedly taking a look at it and decided it was best for him to exit the practice field.

    Rookie WR Roman Wilson Emerges

Wilson had been quiet over the first two days of camp, but on Saturday, the team allocated him first-team reps and he made the most of them. Wilson snagged two passes during "team" period, including the one above which was a well-placed ball by Justin Fields.

He would go on to make more grabs in seven-on-seven, displaying the quickness and route running that Pittsburgh targeted as a replacement for Diontae Johnson.

Calvin Austin III split reps with Wilson on Saturday as the outside WRs of George Pickens and Van Jefferson held their positions on the perimeter. It's still early in camp, but it's right on par with what Wilson needs to do to separate himself on the depth chart and make an impact during his rookie season .

    Fields Has A Strong Day

After opening practice by losing resoundingly during: "Seven Shots" the offense, and more specifically Justin Fields, bounced back in full team, and seven on seven periods. Fields looked accurate, sharp, and poised in the clips that surfaced, all the while displaying the arm strength that enticed Pittsburgh to trade for him.

Russell Wilson may still have pole position, but if he doesn't practice on Sunday and Fields looks sharp again, we will have a real QB competition on our hands come Tuesday when the pads come on.

    Joey Porter Jr. Dominates

It shouldn't surprise anyone, but Porter Jr. looks to be in midseason form even during the early portion of camp, recording two pass breakups on Saturday. Both were on in-breaking routes and against who could be the top two pass catchers in Pittsburgh via George Pickens and Roman Wilson.

    Steelers Find Their Punter

After years of inconsistency at the punter position, Pittsburgh decided it was time to target one in free agency, signing Cameron Johnston to a three-year deal. He and Roman Wilson were the stars of the show on day three of camp.
