Steelers announce 2024 Hall of Honor class

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the four-member Hall of Honor class of 2024 on Saturday.

The 2024 class includes linebacker Jason Gildon (1994-2003), nose tackle Casey Hampton (2001-12) running back Willie Parker (2004-09) and Dick LeBeau, defensive coordinator (1995-96 and 2004-14) and defensive backs coach (1992-94).

Gildon played 10 seasons in Pittsburgh. The three-time Pro Bowler finished his career with 77 sacks, which is fourth-most in franchise history.

Hampton, a five-time Pro Bowler, played 12 seasons for the Steelers. He finished with 403 tackles, and 9 1/2 sacks. He added five forced fumbles, four pass defenses and two fumble recoveries.

LeBeau spent 13 years as the Steelers’ defensive coordinator over two stints. Under his watch, the Steelers finished in the top 10 in total defense 11 times. Five of those times the team had the top overall ranked defense.

Parker played six seasons in Pittsburgh. He played in 79 career games, finishing his career with 5,378 yards, which is ranked third all-time in Steelers history. He had a 4.3-yard average and 24 touchdowns. Parker added 84 receptions for 697 yards, an 8.3-yard average and five touchdowns.

He owns the longest run in Super Bowl history, a 75-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of the Steelers’ win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.

The Hall of Honor was established to recognize former players, coaches and front-office personnel who played an integral role in the success of the franchise, from the beginning in 1933 until now.

To be considered, a player must be retired at least three years and have played a minimum of three seasons for the Steelers. Former coaches and contributors had to make significant contributions to the team and community.

The Steelers will welcome the 2024 Hall of Honor Class when the team takes on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Dec. 8.
