It was only the first day of pads in Latrobe, but Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens looks to be back to his old ways.

Known for making the miraculous look mundane, Pickens has a tendency of making incredible one-handed grabs not only in Latrobe but during the season.

He did the latter again, and Joey Porter Jr. was on the receiving end, again.

    Pickens One-Handed Snag

Pickens and Porter Jr. have had a rivalry going back to this time last year when the rookie was baptized by fire when Pickens made one of the craziest catches ever seen on a football field.

Tuesday's grab wasn't quite that spectacular, but it's nothing to sneeze at and one that Pickens can add to his mantle. How he continues to defy human physics is unknown, but I know Joey Porter Jr. has probably had enough of it.

"Is Joey having as much fun? It looks like you're getting under his skin a little bit," asked a reporter after Pickens said he was having fun with the competition.

"Oh no, we're just competing, just having fun," said Pickens during last year's camp. "Like I was saying he's a guy that likes to compete, so I'm pretty sure it's not getting to him too."

For JPJ, this is just iron sharpening iron. We know how highly he ranked himself among the current crop of CBs in the NFL, and we also know how confident he is in his own ability to be the best at his position.

“Me for sure,” Porter told The Athletic's Mark Kaboly when asked who is the best CB in the league during OTAs in the spring. “There are a lot of good DBs in this league,” Porter said. “Nobody was doing what I was doing going against WR1s the entire year and locking him down. I don’t care if I am mentioned in there or not because they are going to hear my name eventually.”

And while the Steelers certainly have more fish to fry, with camp here and no preseason games for Pittsburgh until next Friday, I'm sure that the coaches would agree with the fans that the more we can see of these two go head to head, the better.

Fans are hoping today was just the start.
