PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A fourth mission to space; Astronaut and crew nine specialist, Stephanie Wilson, is looking forward to her next expedition.

Congressman Neal held a pre-flight call with her on Friday. She says she’s looking forward to doing more research and paving the way for new opportunities.

“We are expecting to have space walks during our expedition. The content of those spacewalks is still under review and we were expecting that the current crew on the space station would be able to complete some space walks” says Stephanie Wilson.

Wilson completed her first mission to space back in 2006. To date, many are wondering when the United States will send astronauts back to the moon.

Wilson says NASA is actively working on that mission. “We’re working with the Orion spacecraft to launch the space work system launch vehicle and that work is coming together part of the Artemis program is also involved in having an orbiting lunar space station called the gateway and so those components are well underway as well.”

Crew-9’s mission will mark SpaceX’s 9th crew rotation to the international space station. Wilson and Crew-9 are expected to launch sometime next month.
