Brett Meservey scores first MRS victory at Wiscasset Speedway
After battling the weather for nearly a month, Wiscasset Speedway was finally able to get in a full program on Saturday night as they hosted all Group 1 divisions plus the visiting Milton CAT Modified Racing Series. It was also the first Fan Appreciation night of the season and drivers participated in an on-track autograph session prior to the start of the racing action.

For 35th year, Open Farm Day is chance to learn more about local farming practices
REGION — The 35th Open Farm Day is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, and several farms in the area plan to participate. Conant Acres, 49 Canton Point Road in Canton will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday that weekend, Debbie Keene told the Livermore Falls Advertiser Monday morning. “A food truck is going to be here on Saturday,” she noted. Farm tours will be available both days, she said.

LIVERMORE FALLS — Edwin Thompson, the current head baseball coach at Georgetown University and a Jay native hosted a baseball camp July 15 in Livermore Falls. The camp was open to children in eighth grade and younger and ran from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost was $20, which included lunch and a t-shirt.
Auburn and Lewiston ready to make a splash at 2-day L-A Riverfest
LEWISTON — The L/A Riverfest is set to make a big splash again this year. The fun kicks off Friday at Simard-Payne Memorial Park, where all activities will be held. They begin with a kickball tournament featuring 14 teams and 200 players. While most teams are sponsored by employers, some are also formed by community groups like the Great Falls Comedy Club.
