The Fund to Support Historic Alna (FSHA) would like to thank Les Fossel and his business, Restoration Resources, for the generous donation of materials and labor required to re-install horse-tie rails at Alna’s historic 1789 meetinghouse. The replacement rails were created from straight-grained 3- by 4-inch Eastern white pine not commercially available, that was cut specifically for this purpose, and dried for three years prior to final milling.

LEWISTON — Lewiston Police are seeking information about a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening at Maple Knoll Apartments. At 8:18 p.m., officers were called to 253 Blake St. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered multiple shell casings in the parking lot and a discarded firearm.
UMA launches Maine's first aviation technician program
The University of Maine at Augusta is launching Maine's first aviation maintenance technician program, based at the Brunswick Landing aviation campus. The university heard from businesses in the aviation industry that there is a serious lack of technicians to hire, said program director Daniel Leclair. He said LifeFlight of Maine spent a year trying to recruit just one technician.
