JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) – A Jersey City law that regulates the amount of money third-party food delivery services can take from an order goes into effect on Aug. 1.

The new law means delivery apps like GrubHub, Uber Eats and DoorDosh must have a tier of service that takes 15% or less from each purchase.

That’s more than half of the current 30% some restaurants and businesses pay now.

Some apps will increase fees onto the customers making the orders to make up the difference.
