    Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Manhattan: police

    MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested early Tuesday morning in Manhattan, according to authorities.

    Darwin Mejia, 38, was taken into custody around 2:45 a.m.

    He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

    Mejia was suspended without pay, according to authorities.
