ORLANDO, Fla. ( WFLA ) — Disney has made a huge announcement regarding several expansion plans coming to three of their four theme parks in the coming years.
As part of D23, the company’s three-day fan festival, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled plans on Saturday for Orlando’s Disney World, along with other Disney parks around the world.
The park, home to Cinderella’s castle, will have the “largest expansion” in the history of Magic Kingdom.
Work is also scheduled to begin on a new park area featuring two “Cars” franchise attractions in 2025. Disney shared the below concept drawings of those attractions.
Additionally, guests will see the dark side when they enter, Villians Land, a new space dedicated to Disney villains. It will include “two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale,” according to the Disney Parks Blog . Work has already begun on this area.
And even when the sun sets, the party isn’t over. Disney parks will soon have a nighttime parade called, “Disney Starlight,” which is set to debut next summer.
