    Brooklyn affordable housing lottery offering apartments for as cheap as $544

    BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An affordable housing lottery in Brooklyn is offering apartment rents for just hundreds of dollars a month – including some studios as low as $544.

    The affordable housing lottery is for Throop Corners , located at 88 Throop Ave. in South Williamsburg.

    The building offers 125 units, including studios, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. Some of the building’s amenities include a shared laundry room, community center, a package room, and a rooftop terrace.

    The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.

    Applications for Throop Corners remain open until Tuesday, Aug. 20. The eligible income range is $21,566 to $173,920.

    Rent ranges from as low as $544 a month for a studio for a single person who makes up to $32,610 a year to $3,275 a month for a four-bedroom apartment for a family of nine making up to $173,920 a year.
