    Man pulled from Hudson River near Pier 76 in Manhattan: NYPD

    MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was pulled from the waters of the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

    Police responded to a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. near 12th Avenue and 34th Street by Pier 76. A bystander saw a man jump in the water, police said.

    A group stood and watched as the NYPD harbor unit was deployed to the waters. The FDNY and NYPD rescue teams, divers, choppers, and boats could be seen scouring the water . A handful of trucks from the Emergency Service Unit were also at the scene, attempting to help, Citizen App video showed .

    The male, believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, was pulled from the water and taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where he was last listed in critical condition.

    An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, according to the police.
