Affordable housing lottery open in NYC: ‘Plethora of amenities’

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An affordable housing lottery is open for a building near the waterfront in New York City that offers a “plethora of amenities,” according to its listing.

The affordable housing lottery is for The Dupont , located at 16 Dupont St. near the East River in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.

“Experience a sophisticated lifestyle in the heart of Greenpoint at The Dupont,” the building’s listing states. “With its prime location and modern amenities, The Dupont sets the standard for refined urban living.”

The listing touts the amenities the building offers, including a pool, gym, recreational room, media room, game room, business center, children’s playroom and more. However, additional fees apply for some of the amenities, according to the listing.

The building offers 115 affordable units, including studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

“All units are equipped with a dishwasher and washer/dryer, providing a high degree of convenience, enabling an effortless approach to the maintenance of domestic chores,” the building’s listing states.

The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.

Applications for The Dupont will remain open until Sept. 18. The eligible income range is $64,012 to $218,010.

Rent ranges from as low as $1,782 a month for a studio for a single person who makes up to $86,960 a year to $4,001 a month for a two-bedroom apartment for a family of five making up to $218,010 a year.
