    Man shot waiting for bus in Crown Heights: NYPD

    CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A man was shot in the leg while waiting at a bus stop in Brooklyn Thursday night, police said.

    The 42-year-old man told police he heard gunfire before he realized he was struck in front of 170 Buffalo St. in Crown Heights at around 11:20 p.m., accoridng to the NYPD.

    The victim was shot in the lower left leg and called a friend to take him to the hospital, police said. The injury was not life-threatening.

    The man didn’t see who fired the gun, police said. It was unclear if he was targeted.

    There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

    The incident happened in the neighborhood patrolled by the 77th Precinct, where shooting incidents and shooting victims have spiked this year compared to 2023, according to NYPD data.
