    Heavy smoke billows from barge fire in Queens: video

    LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (PIX11) – The FDNY is investigating how a barge caught on fire in Queens Tuesday night.

    Burned debris from the barge was seen along Greenpoint Avenue in Long Island City, AIR11 video showed.

    The FDNY said 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. An excavator was used to help put the fire out.

    Heavy smoke billowed into the sky from the fire, Citizen App video showed. It took about two hours to get the fire under control, according to the FDNY.

    No injuries were reported.
