Man, 66, hit with fire extinguisher while sleeping on Manhattan street: NYPD

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A 66-year-old man was sleeping on a Manhattan street when he was attacked by five men back on Aug. 4, according to the NYPD.

It happened on Broadway in Midtown around 1:30 a.m. The victim was approached by five men, who allegedly punched and kicked him repeatedly, per police.

The men then allegedly hit the victim with a fire extinguisher, according to authorities.

The suspects fled the scene going northbound on Broadway. The victim was taken to NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue in critical condition, per police.

The first suspect was last seen wearing all black. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black pullover mask, a white t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers.

The third suspect was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black and white sneakers. The fourth suspect was last seen wearing all black and carrying a bookbag.

The fifth suspect was last seen wearing a navy blue beanie, all-black clothing and black and white sneakers.
