These NYC departments are hiring for thousands of open jobs

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Several city departments in New York City are currently hiring for thousands of open jobs.

The jobs are listed online on JobsNYC , the official careers website for the City of New York.

The JobsNYC website allows people to search for a variety of jobs at different governmental departments and agencies in New York City.

Most of the jobs are full time and are described as “experienced” roles, but there are some part-time and entry-level positions available.

Seven different city departments are hiring for nearly 2,500 jobs in total, which account for a large majority of the open positions listed on the JobsNYC website.

These are the city departments that have the most job openings on the JobsNYC website:

• New York City Department of Transportation ( 277 jobs )
• New York City Department of Design and Construction ( 269 jobs )
• New York City Department of Environmental Protection ( 539 jobs )
• New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene ( 542 jobs )
• New York City Department of Homeless Services ( 153 jobs )
• New York City Human Resources Administration/Department of Social Services ( 569 jobs )
• New York City Housing Authority ( 141 jobs )
