NEW YORK (PIX11) — Multiple lines are getting back on track after severe delays at the height of morning rush hour on Tuesday.

Straphangers on the 4, 5, and 6 trains dealt with delays in both directions because of an unauthorized person on the tracks, according to the MTA. Southbound 2 trains were also delayed but have since gone back to normal service.

Police say an unauthorized person was walking along the tracks at the 116th Street Station just after 5 a.m. MTA officials also reported that a person was found at 138 St-Grand Concourse but it was not immediately clear whether it’s the same individual.

Power was shut off on the line during the police investigation resulting in no 4 train service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and 86 St, no 6 service between 3 Av-138 St and 86 St, and 5 trains being rerouted to the 2 line in both directions between Nevins St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.

“First commute in two and a half weeks and there are “major delays” on all of my subway lines,” one frustrated commuter expressed on social media .

It was not immediately made clear how the unauthorized individual got onto the tracks or whether they were removed by police.
