NEW YORK (PIX11) — Wednesday marks 23 years since terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, killing nearly 3,000 people.

Those lives are being remembered Wednesday morning on the Memorial Plaza during the annual commemoration ceremony hosted by The National September 11 Memorial and Museum. The ceremony also honors those who were killed in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The names of the victims will be read aloud during the ceremony.
