    Teen shot in the back in Hell’s Kitchen: NYPD

    HELL’S KITCHEN, Manhattan (PIX11) —A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back in Manhattan Tuesday night, police said.

    Four suspects approached the teen near 51st Street and 10th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen before shots rang out just before 7 p.m., according to the NYPD. The victim was struck in the back and taken to the hospital for treatment.

    The suspects ran off after the incident and were last seen heading westbound on 51st Street, police said. There have been no arrests.

    No other information was available.

    The shooting happened in the neighborhood patrolled by the Midtown North Precinct, which has seen a 26% decline in shootings and an 18% drop in shooting victims this year compared to last year, according to NYPD data.
